Though the COVID19 crisis has severely affected the movement of NCCR researchers the zoom meetings, writing and analysis part as well as dissemination of research findings through media was continued.
NCCR in collaboration with CIUD completed regional Progress Sharing & Review Meeting “Challenges of municipal solid waste management: Learning from post-crisis governance initiatives in South Asia” in Kathmandu, from 7 to 10 January 2020 where delegates from Nepal, Switzerland, India and Sri Lanka participated.

NCCR and CIUD research team has successfully completed the first and second rounds of the field study related to Challenges of municipal solid waste management: Learning from post-crisis governance initiatives in South Asia.
The original plan of completing the 6 years research project entitled Feminisation, agricultural transition and rural employment: Social and political conditions of asset building in the context of export-led agriculture (FATE) is in the process of extension due to COVID19 crisis. This project is jointly implemented by Centre for Development and Environment (CDE), University of Bern, International Centre for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), Klgali, Rwanda, National University of Laos, Faculty of Social Sciences, Lao PDR, Universidad Mayor de San Andres, Postgmdo en Clenclas del Esarrollo, La Paz, Bolivia (CIDES) UN Research Institute for Social Development, Geneva, Switzerland (UNRISD) implemented since 2014 where several PhD and Masters students graduated.

NCCR Research Director (RD) was appointed as Executive Chairman of the Policy Research Institute (a Government Think Tank) by the government of Nepal in late February and he has resigned from the position of RD of NCCR since early March 2020. A new team is composed.
